The history of Bohrium
| Upptäckt | Gesellschaft für Schwerionenforschung (1981) |
| Namngivare | GSI |
Upptäckten av bohrium Bohrium was first conclusively synthesized in 1981 by Peter Armbruster, Gottfried Münzenberg and colleagues at GSI in Darmstadt, Germany, using cold fusion of chromium-54 ions with bismuth-209. The element was named in honour of Niels Bohr, the Danish physicist whose model of the atom and work on quantum mechanics shaped 20th-century physics. | |
