Metalloids

Metalloids sit on the boundary between metals and nonmetals and share properties of both. Silicon, the most familiar metalloid, is the foundation of modern electronics. Other metalloids include boron, germanium, arsenic, antimony and tellurium - all important in semiconductors, glass, alloys and specialised chemistry.
